Location: Coastal Region Release: Expected April 2026

Riven Tides

A coastal battleground where ruined cities meet the ocean – coming April 2026.

🌊 Upcoming Map Release

Riven Tides is coming to Arc Raiders in April 2026. The name comes from Embark Studios' 2026 Escalation Roadmap, where the final update is titled "Riven Tides." The roadmap imagery points to a coastal map with water features – something we haven't seen in the Rust Belt yet.

What the Concept Art Shows

The Ringed Coastal City

The first image shows a fascinating city layout that almost looks like a flower extending into the water. The structure has serious verticality to it, and there appear to be underground sections near the waterline. This kind of design screams zip line and snap hook opportunities – perfect for Arc Raiders' traversal mechanics.

The second image gives us another angle on this same location, confirming those underground areas and revealing highways built over the water. This raises an interesting question: what happens if you fall in? Is water instant death, or will we actually be able to swim? The game mechanics around water interaction could be a game-changer for this map.

Image 7 (riven-tides-7.webp) shows this ringed city from the land side. While it doesn't reveal much new, it does confirm we can traverse the grassy hillsides overlooking the city, not just the urban areas themselves. That kind of elevation advantage could be crucial for scouting and positioning.

The Offshore Platform

Images 3 and 103_media_src show what looks like an oil rig with a uniquely shaped top – very Arc Raiders in its industrial-meets-sci-fi aesthetic. Seeing the same structure from multiple angles suggests this could be a major landmark or point of interest on the map.

Other Coastal Locations

Image 4 (riven-tides-4.webp) shows another partially flooded coastal city that doesn't appear to match any of the other locations. It's unclear if this is a different area of the same map or just early concept exploration.

Image 5 (riven-tides-5.webp) is particularly interesting – a massive rocket ship lying on its side, partially submerged in water. If the internals are traversable, this could be an incredible set piece for firefights and loot runs.

Important Context

Keep in mind these are early concept art pieces from Arc Raiders' development. Nothing has been officially announced about what will actually be in Riven Tides. We don't know if all these elements will appear in one map, or if they're just inspiration for the coastal theme. These images give us a sense of what to expect, but the final map could look quite different.

Trailer Screenshot

Image 8 (riven-tides-8.webp) is a screenshot from one of Arc Raiders' trailers showing what appears to be this map. You can see ships on the horizon and glacial formations along the coastline, suggesting this could be a colder region of the Rust Belt – possibly near that volcano area east of Buried City.

Map Location Theory

Looking at the map screen, the southern coast near the volcano is the largest unexplored area in the Rust Belt. There's also a crater visible just east of the volcano that appears in some early concept art. If Riven Tides does end up in that region, it would make sense from a spacing perspective – all the other maps occupy similar-sized chunks of the overworld.
