The Ultimate Loot Guide to Max Out Scrappy in Under an Hour

Hey Raiders, struggling to find those last few Olives or that ridiculously elusive Comfortable Pillow to upgrade Scrappy? We've all been there. With Expeditions coming in December, knowing the fastest way to level up our favorite material-finding rooster is more important than ever. Forget wandering aimlessly for hours—we've broken down the ultimate, high-speed farming routes for every single item Scrappy needs to become a Master Hoarder.

The Golden Rule: Farm Smarter, Not Harder with Lush Blooms

Before we dive into specific items, here's the biggest timesaver in the entire game for this grind: Lush Bloom events.

When you see a map with the green nature icon, drop everything and go there. During a Lush Bloom, two things happen:

  • All nature items have a massively increased spawn rate
  • Special Fruit Baskets spawn all over the map
🌿 Lush Bloom Pro Tip

These baskets are an absolute goldmine. I've confirmed that every single nature item Scrappy needs—Lemons, Apricots, Prickly Pears, Olives, and even those annoying Mushrooms—can drop from these baskets. You can open four or five baskets and walk away with every nature material you need for all of his upgrades in a single 20-minute run. Seriously, it's faster to wait for a Lush Bloom than to farm these items individually.

Scrappy's Upgrade Path: Item by Item

If you can't wait for a Lush Bloom, here are the absolute best spots to target-farm everything you need.

Level 1: Dog Collar Location

📋 Level 1 Requirements
Dog Collar item

1 Dog Collar

This is a "trinket" item, meaning it can technically spawn anywhere, but it has a much higher chance in residential areas and inside searchable containers like drawers and cabinets.

Best Dog Collar Farming Spot: Forget RNG. Head to Dam Battlegrounds and go to the three unmarked residential compounds on the far top-left corner: Pale Apartments, Ruby Residence, and Pattern House. This area is a low-traffic zone, and clearing these three houses almost guarantees you'll find one or two Dog Collars every single run.

Level 2: Lemons & Apricots Locations

📋 Level 2 Requirements
Lemon item

3 Lemons

Apricot item

3 Apricots

Lemons & Apricots

These grow on the same type of thin, branching tree.

Best Lemons and Apricots Farming Spot: The Olive Grove on Blue Gate. Ironically, the center of the Grove is packed with Lemon and Apricot trees. Kick the trees and scoop up the fruit.

Alternate Spot: The trench on the north side of Spaceport. Follow the green path in the trench and you'll find plenty of trees.

⚠️ Empty Trees Warning

Sometimes you'll find the right trees but they won't have any fruit on them. If you don't see fruit lying on the ground and there's no "Press E to Interact" UI when you approach the tree, it's already been harvested by another player or hasn't respawned yet.

Don't waste time! If the trees are empty, move to another location immediately. I spent 10 minutes wandering around Trapper's Glade on Blue Gate seeing the right trees but finding zero fruit. Save yourself the frustration and switch spots.

Level 3: Cat Bed, Olives & Prickly Pears

📋 Level 3 Requirements
Cat Bed item

1 Cat Bed

Olives item

6 Olives

Prickly Pear item

6 Prickly Pears

Cat Bed Location

Another residential trinket.

Best Cat Bed Farming Spot: The Village on Blue Gate. This location is a mix of commercial and residential buildings and is absolutely loaded with loot containers. It can spawn Dog Collars, Cat Beds, and Comfortable Pillows, making it a one-stop-shop for all your trinket needs.

Olives Location

These grow on large, old-looking, dark gray trees, often with a discolored patch of ground at their base.

Best Olives Farming Spot: The Olive Grove on Blue Gate again, but this time, stick to the outer perimeter. The massive circle around the central garden is where you'll find dozens of Olive trees.

Prickly Pears Location

You'll find these on cacti.

Best Prickly Pears Farming Spot: The outskirts of Buried City. Start on the east side by the highway and swoop down along the southern edge of the town. The desert terrain here is covered in cactus patches.

Level 4: Very Comfortable Pillow, Mushrooms & More Apricots

📋 Level 4 Requirements
Very Comfortable Pillow item

3 Very Comfortable Pillows

Mushroom item

12 Mushrooms

12 Apricots item

12 Apricots

Very Comfortable Pillow

The rarest of the trinkets.

Best Farming Spot: Once again, The Village on Blue Gate. Run through the houses, open every cabinet and drawer, and you'll find it.

Alternate Spot: The Grandioso Apartments on Buried City. A word of warning: this place is huge, and the loot is spread thin. Hit it fast and don't waste time checking every single empty room.

Mushrooms Location

This is, without a doubt, the most annoying item to farm manually. Prioritize finding these in Lush Bloom fruit baskets. If you absolutely have to find them in the wild, this is what you look for:

The Source: Mushrooms don't just grow on the ground. They have a specific source: dead, vertical trees that have fake, non-interactable mushrooms growing on them. If you see one of these trees, you'll find harvestable mushrooms at its base. They are most often found near water.

Dead tree with fake mushrooms on it and a larger white harvestable mushroom at its base (this one doesn't have it) - this is what you're looking for

🍄 Mushrooms Farming Tips

High Quantity: The swamp areas on Dam Battlegrounds. You can find tons of mushroom trees here, but they are very spread out.

High Consistency: The trench on the north side of Spaceport. This is the secret spot. Tucked away near the small puddles of water in the trench are several of these mushroom-spawning trees. You'll only get 2-5 mushrooms per run, but it's a much faster and more reliable run than wandering the swamps.
