Season 5: What's New

Embark says they've listened to community feedback, and Season 5 is loaded with new objective types that go beyond the usual "damage this ARC" or "search that container" formula. Here's what they've teased:
- Weapon-specific ARC damage — damage certain ARC types using specific weapons (the devs' words: "snitches get stitches")
- Absorb Pop explosions — take Pop explosions to the face and earn points for it
- Fresh loadout-testing challenges — new ways to test different gear combinations
- Returning fan-favorite challenges — a mix of proven objectives alongside the new additions
The weapon-specific challenges are the big change here. Instead of just "damage Fireflies" or "damage Bombardiers," you'll need to damage specific ARC with specific weapons. This forces loadout diversity — you can't just run your comfort pick for everything. It's the kind of challenge that rewards versatility and pushes Raiders to experiment with weapons they might normally ignore.
Season 5 Reward: The Scorta Outfit
The Season 5 reward is the Scorta — a heavy, juggernaut-style armor set. It's a major departure from Season 4's breezy Blindspot coastal gear. This is built for Raiders who want to look like they walked through a warzone and came out the other side.

The Hotshot (Red) and Cantina Legend (Blue) color variants are the chase items here — exclusive to Raiders who grind all the way to the top ranks. With a nearly three-month window, even casual players should have a realistic shot at reaching the higher tiers if they stay consistent.
What This Means Going Forward
Season 5's extended duration (nearly 12 weeks vs. Season 4's roughly 10 weeks) and the weapon-specific challenge format both signal that Embark is continuing to refine Trials based on community input. The shift toward loadout diversity over raw volume grinding is a healthy direction — it rewards skill and adaptability rather than just time invested.
