Pendola Pass has no raider hatches and no elevators you can just walk to. You leave on the Ballistic Gondola: you call it with a transceiver, it parachutes in somewhere nearby, and it launches you back to Speranza like a rocket. It has three seats, so there's a trick for squads of more. Here's how it all works.
Written from early-access footage on launch day. We're adding every Gondola Transceiver to our Pendola Pass map and will confirm timings as we play.
How to Call the Ballistic Gondola
- Find a Gondola Transceiver. They sit at the extraction icons on your map.
- Request the gondola with the button on the transceiver's tower ("Request Ballistic Gondola").
- Work out where it will land. It comes down 100 to 150 m away, not at the transceiver. The transceiver's light points toward the landing spot, your map shows a Ballistic Gondola (Incoming) icon, and green smoke marks it on the ground.
- Get to it and pry a pod open. There are three pods. Once you're inside with the door shut, nobody can get in or shoot you.
- Launch. The gondola waits about two minutes. As soon as one person starts entering, a 10-second countdown begins, even if the rest of the squad hasn't arrived.
More Than Three Raiders? Ride on Top
Only three players fit inside, but anyone who attaches to the gondola with a grappling hook leaves with it. Hook on, climb up, and stay attached through the launch.
- Reel the rope in before it launches. One early-access player was left dangling; it was called a bug that's fixed for live, but don't leave it to chance.
- You're exposed up there. No pod walls, nothing between you and ARC or other squads. Throw a smoke before you climb, and another once you're up.
- Riders on top don't fall off as long as they're attached.
Tips for a Clean Extract
- Calling it makes noise. ARC turned up at every gondola in early access, and they weren't the same ARC each time. Clear the area or call it from cover.
- Prying a pod open leaves you in the open. Unlike an elevator, there are no walls while you interact.
- Downed teammates can still be put in.
- Don't solo-launch your squad. The 10-second countdown starts when anyone begins entering. Jumping out and back in seemed to reset it in early access.
- The Reckless Transceiver sits in the fallen Emperor's shadow. Convenient after an Emperor run, but the most exposed call-in on the map. See our Emperor guide.
