Redirection: Emperor Relays, Beacons and Payload Loot

Redirection is the new minor map condition on Pendola Pass, and it's tied straight into Frozen Trail's endgame. With the Emperor down, you can steal its signal and call Harvester payloads down wherever you like. The crash site is where early-access players found the three ARC couplers and the epic materials for amplified weapons.

🔄 This guide is being updated

Written from early-access footage and in-game text on launch day. We'll confirm drop rates and whether the couplers really build the Emperor Gateway Conduit as we play. Redirection windows will appear on our event schedule and in the box below.

How Redirection Works, Step by Step

  1. Find a Damaged Emperor Relay. Look for the red beam in the sky, or the relay icon on your map. Several spawn around Pendola Pass.
  2. Search the relay to take an Emperor Beacon. In early access it was the only thing inside.
  3. Deploy the beacon in an open area. It needs open sky, and you can carry up to 3.
  4. Take cover. The payload comes in with a rain of debris that shreds health and shields. Get indoors or out of the impact circle.
  5. Breach and search the Emperor Payload, then pick through the smaller debris for ARC parts.

What Drops

SourceLoot seen in early access
Emperor PayloadARC Conductive, Insulated and Plated Couplers; Pneumatic Actuator and Pressure Regulator (both "used to craft amplified weapons"); ARC parts
Falling debrisARC Alloy, ARC Circuitry, Motion Cores and other ARC parts

One early-access player called the payload loot "probe-level", while others pulled couplers and amplification materials. Expect it to vary per payload; we'll add numbers once we've opened enough of them.

Why It Matters: The Road Into the Emperor

The three couplers from Emperor Payloads (Conductive, Insulated and Plated) are "said to combine into a singular conduit", and the door into the fallen Emperor asks for an Emperor Gateway Conduit. If that holds, Redirection is how you get inside, and inside is where Amplification Modules drop. The couplers, the conduit and the door are covered in our guide to getting into the Emperor.

Tips

  • The beam gives you away. Both the relay and your deployed beacon are visible across the map, so expect company at the crash site.
  • Pick the drop spot. Deploy where you have hard cover nearby and a clear view of the approaches.
  • Carry spares. Beacons stack to 3, so one relay run can feed several payloads.
  • Fireflies show up during Redirection and nowhere else on Pendola Pass. Bring something that handles flying ARC.
